Physiotherapy

It is the set of methods that take advantage of different forms of energy in the man’s surrounding.

1. ELECTROTHERAPY (ELECTROTREATMENT):

4-chamber electric-water bath – electric bath that makes use of four little baths filled with water and direct current for limbs. Current can flow from lower limbs to upper ones or from upper limbs to lower ones. Depending on the direction of current flow, you can gain relaxing effect, which reduces or increases blood pressure.
Galvanization – therapy with direct current of appropriate parameters. The treatment aims at exposing tissues to the influence of flowing direct current. It causes nerve hyperexcitability and blood supply to the place of applied treatment; it also has an analgesic effect. Galvanization is used for treating neuralgia, degenerative backbone joint disease, paralysis of peripheral nerves, post-injury conditions of osseous system, post-operation wounds (speeds up the regeneration of soft tissues)
Iontophoresis – administering a given medicine through the skin in the form of water solution, gel or ointment by means of direct current. The application of this treatment facilitates medicine absorption in pathologically changed tissue (current causes increased skin cappilarization and, thereby, absorption of medicine particles in tissues). For the treatment, there is usually used medicine that has analgesic, antiphlogistic, antirheumatic effects, which widen blood vessels and soften scar tissues.
Water iontophoresis – treatment used for fighting feet or palms hyperhidrosis.
Diadynamic currents – currents of low frequency and changeable amplitude. By the selection of appropriate parameters one can gain analgesic effect, the improvement of local circulation, tissue nutrition and antioedematous effects. The treatment is used in degenerative joint disease, post-injury conditions of motor organs, muscle and joint pain syndromes.
Träbert currents – currents of characteristic powerful effect on the chosen structures of nervous system. By means of the application of Träbert currents on the nervous system one can gain the improvement of cappilarisation and tissue nutrition, in peripheral circulation disorders as well, be means of reflex. Träbert currents is used in the treatment of neuralgias, ischemic syndrome of limbs, healing difficult wounds.
TENS currents – currents of average and high frequency that has a powerful analgesic effect. Analgesic effect depends on lessening pain by means of nerve stimulation (TENSE from English: Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation). TENS currents are used in the treatment of muscle pain syndromes, backbone and joint pain syndromes, neuralgias.
Kotz currents – the training of healthy muscles by means of stimulation with current of average frequency. Kotz currents are often used in rehabilitation, biological regeneration and sport as a method facilitating weight and durability training of weight. This current does not have any application in therapy of muscle with the damaged nervous conduction.
Inferential currents – currents of average frequency affecting tissue more deeply. Due to the application of effect of two average frequency currents you can gain the therapeutic effect deep in tissues and on the wide area. Depending on the chosen parameters, you can obtain an analgesic effect, which increases congestion and tissue nutrition, or relaxing effect, as well as their various combinations. Inferential currents are used in the treatment of degenerative limb joint changes, backbone pain syndromes, muscle atrophy as a result of inactivity, muscle post-injury and post-operation conditions, rheumatism of soft tissues, neuralgias.
Electrostimulation – muscle stimulation by means of impulse electric current. The treatment causes controlled muscle contraction omitting the part or whole nervous system responsible for contraction in the correct conditions. It has the wide application in neurological diseases when the conduction of nervous impulses to muscles is disturbed. Electrostimulation is used in the treatment of muscle strength weakness, partial damage of peripheral nerves, muscle atrophy, secondary effects of flabby muscles paralysis.
Wadit (NOVELTY) (high-tone therapy) – current of acoustic frequency band applied on the whole body or the chosen parts in sessions of 40 and 50 minutes. The treatment depends on nerve and muscle stimulation by means of electric current of frequencies adequate for acoustic vibration. Patients do not feel on their skin any discomfort which is associated with the application of different therapeutic currents. Therefore, higher doses of current can be administered. An organism that undergoes this procedure indicates high reactivity in the treatment of post-injury conditions, inflammatory and degenerative disease of osseous system, peripheral neurological diseases, blood circulation disorders and metabolic diseases (in obesity treatment as well).
Compound electrotherapy – treating with therapeutic current connected with pressure massage. Due to the modern therapeutic device equipped with the special electrodes (suckers), this treatment joins the effect of chosen current with the effect of pressure massage on the spot of electrode application. As a result, it gives more effective therapeutic treatment than the separate use of those procedures. Compound electrotherapy is used in the treatment of degenerative limb joint changes, backbone pain syndromes, muscle atrophy as a result of inactivity, muscle post-injury and post-operation conditions, the rheumatism of soft tissues, neuralgias.

2. MAGNETOTHERAPY (TREATMENT WITH MAGNETIC FIELD)

Magnetotron – (treatment with magnetic field of low frequency). The appropriate dose of magnetic field affects an organism by changing the polarization of cell membranes, improves oxygen absorption through tissues and speeds up regeneration processes. It facilitates tissue nutrition, speeds up bone adhesion, stimulates restoration of collagen, improves peripheral blood circulation, has an analgesic, antiphlogistic and relaxing effect. Magnetotron is used in the treatment of post-fracture conditions, dislocation of joints, tendon and joint capsule strains, degenerative changes and inflammatory conditions of backbone joints and limbs, osteoporosis, ischemic heart disease, sinusitis, bronchitis, wound hard to heal.
Viofor – the whole body or the spot in the body undergoes the toning effect of low frequency magnetic field. The delicate stimulation of the whole body with magnetic field of low frequency triggers regenerative, antiphlogistic and analgesic effects. It counteracts daily stresses, facilitates falling asleep, improves the quality of sleep and concentration, relaxes and increases immunity. Moreover, it prevents osteoporosis, regulates the level of cholesterol and blood pressure. Viofor is used in the treatment of muscle hypertension as a result of stress or function overload, chronic neurosis, chronic inflammatory conditions of joint and muscle, insomnia.

3. PHOTOTHERAPY THAT IS ACTYNOTHERAPY (LIGHT TREATMENT)

Bioptron – bio stimulating irradiation with light imitating solar radiation without UV factor. The lamp imitates polarized light that is similar to solar one devoid of harmful ultraviolet radiation. Due to its delicate effect, it enhances the progress of regeneration facilitating the treatment which allows the organism to return to its internal balance. Bioptron speeds up healing of wounds and skin ulceration. The time of emission - 10 minutes. It is used in the treatment of pain syndromes of limb joints and backbone, neuralgias, skin ulceration pathological changes, chronic inflammatory conditions of joints and muscles.
Sunlamp – UV radiation stimulates activation of D3 vitamin with its simultaneous antiseptic effect on an irradiated tissue. Description: The lamp irradiating mainly ultraviolet radiation. Due to its influence on metabolism, it is generally used in prevention and treatment of rickets in children and with the aim of speeding up the healing of bones and in osteoporosis. It facilitates the treatment of skin diseases by its bacterial activity. Sunlamp is used in the treatment of rickets in children, hard to heal wounds, vitamin anaemia and habitual bone fractures.
Sollux – tissue heating by means of the lamp with strong infra-red light. During irradiation tissues are quiet deeply overheated, which contributes to the activation of processes of tissue congestion even in the deep, pathologically changed places. The local improvement of blood flow and the activation of metabolic processes can be gained thanks to heating. Irradiation has also an analgesic effect as a result of raising pain threshold. The use of filters of various colours effectively extends the range of therapeutic possibilities of the lamp. Sollux is used in the treatment of chronic inflammatory conditions of motor system, old post-injury changes, neuralgias, backbone pain syndrome and sinusitis.
Laser – precise tissue radiation with the laser light of biostimulating parameters. Taking advantage of the laser light of low intensity for, so called, laser biostimulation, we can provide tissues and cells with additional energy that facilitates the processes of natural regeneration and healing in an organism. Moreover, by means of changes in oxygen balance of cells and polarization of cell membranes, we can gain a significant analgesic effect. The use of scanner guarantees the equal provision of laser ray to the whole treated part of body. Laser is used in the treatment of backbone pain syndrome, joint regenerative diseases, chronic nerve inflammation, hard to heal wounds, post-operation scars, nerve root pains and neuralgias, muscle contraction.
Punctual laser – it is the adjustment of radiation application by means of precisely determined trigger points of pain. While carrying out the treatment on the precisely determined points, we can increase its efficiency by concentrating the laser energy on places in which its effect will be the largest.
Shower laser – it is another modification of laser radiation application by means of laser probe in the shape of the end of a shower. The special shower probe that allows to treat larger place can be used in ailments, for which it is hard to determine the precise number of points in which the use of laser should be the most effective, or in the cases when there are too many such points (e.g. in pain covering the large part of the body).
Stress relieve phototherapy – providing vision apparatus with light stimuli by means of the appropriate dose of light of specific parameters (the compensation of the lack of solar radiation). Therapy conducted by the light of parameters close to those of natural sun is generally used in time when there is decreased amount of natural light (cloudy autumn, winter, and work in rooms without the direct contact with solar radiation). It prevents seasonal depression, bad mood, apathy, the feeling of sadness or anxiety, and facilitates the fight with insomnia.

4. ULTRASOUNDS TRETMENT (ULTRASONOTHERAPY)

Acoustic waves of high frequency (1 – 3 MHz) are used in medical treatment. The tissue that is radiated by means of this type of waves undergoes micromassage whose effect is the increased temperature and accelerated microcirculation. The above tissue reactions have analgesic, relaxing and healing accelerating effects. By means of the increased blood circulation and mechanical activity of ultrasound waves, one can observe the favourable effect in the treatment of soft tissue calcification, the example of which can be calcanean spur. Acoustic waves are used in the treatment of chronic rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, periosteal hypertrophy (calcanean spur, osteophyte), chronic inflammatory conditions of muscles and articular capsules, backbone pain syndromes.
Ultrasounds with electrotherapy (combination therapy) – affecting tissue with acoustic waves with simultaneous application of electric therapeutic current. Due to very modern medical technology soothing and analgesic effects of ultrasounds were joined with electric current of appropriate parameters, which stimulates nerves and muscles. This solution made the therapeutic effect of ultrasounds more effective, which in consequence, significantly contributed to higher efficiency of this therapeutic treatment.
